Did you know that smoking in your house can cause a fire that can burn down your home? It is very easy and it has been done a lot over the years. People losing everything they have due to smoking in the house. A cigarette can cause almost anything flammable to catch on fire just like a candle can or a match can. Smoking in the house is not good for you or for you house. It can affect your health and the condition of your home. If you smoke in your home or someone else does, you are constantly flirting with disaster. Accidents with fire can happen so easily in the home in the first place and when someone smokes in the house daily, the risks of starting a fire are increased tremendously.

Here are some things that can happen to your home when someone smokes inside. You or they can fall asleep and the cigarette can fall on the bed, floor, carpet, clothes, or any paper on the floor. The hot ash can fall off if your flick it to hard and pieces of the fire can come off and land on things without your even being aware that it has. If you do not put it out all the way, the butt can still smolder and start a fire if the ash tray gets knocked over or if you empty it in the trash while there are still embers burning.

You can even catch yourself on fire which can damage your skin. You can accidentally drop a lit cigarette on furniture and burn a hole through it which causes damage to the fabric. Do not lay a cigarette anywhere but in an ash tray because it can fall off and cause a fire to begin and never go off and leave one burning unattended anytime. You have to be careful when it comes to smoking in your home and it is better to never smoke inside the house at all.

Many homes have been burned down because someone was smoking inside and it was because they were not watching what they were doing. The damages from the fire caused by smoke can be very bad in the home even if there is never a fire. The sticky tar in the smoke will stick to and stain everything it gets on and when someone smokes in the home constantly, it does not take that long to have a serious residue build up everywhere inside. Your home insurance may not cover you for the damage caused by a cigarette. It just depends on your insurance company and your policy.
