Austin has a number of thrilling locations where you can get your heart racing or where you can excite and thrill your mind. No matter what it takes to get you thrilled, there is bound to be something for you in Austin.

University of Texas Tower

Visiting the University of Texas Tower is sure to thrill any fan of history. This landmark location made international headlines on August 1, 1966, which was when gunman Charles Witness shot down 45 people from the tower. Of the 45, 14 were killed and 31 were injured. The tower didn't reopen until 1999 and tours are available. Panoramic views of the city can be seen from the tower.

Volente Beach Water Park

The Volente Beach Water Park offers opportunities to cool down and enjoy thrilling water rides. The park also includes a beach as well as a lagoon located on Lake Travis. The park is open from April through September.

Inner Space Cavern

Go spelunking at Inner Space Cavern, which features a number of guided tours. One of these tours is the Explorers Tour, which takes visitors down a cavern trail that has been extended.

Fall Creek Vineyards

Visitors can thrill their taste buds at the Fall Creek Vineyards. This winery, which is located near Lake Buchanan, offers wine tasting opportunities as well as tours and a retail shop.

Vanishing Texas River Cruise

Onlookers will wonder where you have gone when you take a tour on the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. These boat trips take guests through caverns on Lake Buchanan.

Schlitterbahn

The 65 acre waterpark of Schlitterbahn features over 40 different attractions and rides. The park is open from April through September.

Snake Farm

Thrill seekers will love having close encounters with a variety of animals at Snake Farm. Aside from snakes, Snake Farm is also home to crocodiles, alligators, longhorns, llamas, monkeys, lizards, and kangaroos.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

The Six Flags Fiesta Texas amusement park includes a water park as well as a number of thrilling rides. The park is open from March through October.

SeaWorld San Antonio

SeaWorld San Antonio offers a number of attractions on its expansive 250 acres of space. This includes exciting shows performed by sea lions, beluga whales, the famous Shamu. In addition, the park features over 25 rides and other attractions. The park is open from March through November.
