1. Prepare your resume. If you are seriously in a job hunt, you must have a resume, no matter how simple it is. Since it is your first time, don?t expect to have a long, experience-filled resume. What really matters is the quality of work you will render if you do get hired. You should also be able to use the resume as a tool for you show your character to the employer.

2. Have a list of the places to apply. There are many websites that could give you a list of job openings close to your area. A newspaper is another place to look. Newspapers would have updated lists of job postings. And of course, at random, you would find ?Wanted? signs on offices and stores as you walk around.

3. Do not go out the door and walk blindly. You have to have a list of addresses where you are applying. Plan your search in an organized manner, making sure you do not waste time going around when you can take a systematic route.

4. Appear professional. After getting your resume ready, make sure you go on the hunt in full gear, dressed nicely and professionally.

5. You must be ready for any outcome. You may or may not be hired. You have to be ready for that because everyone gets rejected, one way or another. You have to have a good response that would make the employer look back at your resume and take note of your contact details for future reference. The response should be respectful and should show what a good sport you are.

6. Walk and talk with confidence and maturity. While talking to the employer, be in eye contact with him and give him a firm handshake. Talk with honesty and confidence and be articulate. This is not the time to be shy.

7. Follow up on the job you applied for. This is important because this would show the employer how insistent you are going to be with your clients.
