By:

Finding love in the mission district, or the love of food, is an easy feat to conquer. YELP has 274 restaurants listed on its page for Mission District restaurants. The Mission area is packed everything from Mexican taquerias to chic to casual elegant restaurants to bakeries. What are you in the mood for? Are you up for the locals favorite hole in the wall with El Farolito, which rated 4 1/2 stars out of 1564 reviewers! For something good for your heart try the Bacon Dog Cart, purported to be the best hot dog ever. A hot dog wrapped in bacon smothered in onions, not a bad way to go, 457 reviews game it 4 1/2 stars also.

As far as taquerias go, La Corneta Taqueria is favored especially when craving a good burrito. Mexican food is the flavor in the Mission District and several rank up there with El Farolito, La Taqueria, La Traviata, Taqueria CancunPancho Villa Taqueria, Papalote Mexican Grill, and Pancho Villa Taqueria all ranking at least 4 stars with hundreds of reviews. This is making me hungry!

The Foreign Cinema rated 4 stars with over 2,000 reviews; it is a movie with dinner experience. People forget to watch the movie as they become so enamored with the food. Fried chicken, warm olives, baked goat cheese, oysters, chicken entree, lamb entrees are rumored to be "to die for". Not a single flaw with the appetizers or entrees and the chocolate mouse is heaven sent, the creme brulee divine and the gingerbread cake scrumptious. The atmosphere is hip and interesting. Sounds like a winner.

The Delfina rated high in the Italian category with over one thousand reviews giving it an average of four stars. Reviews used words like consistently delicious, amazing service, changing menu, excellent, the food thrilled us. One review said he wanted amazing food but still wanted to wear a hoodie to dinner, perfect choice. Fine, casual, fun, good food. Cannot go wrong there.

The Tartine Bakery seems to be a local favorite with 2500 people ranking it with 4 1/2 stars. The outside dining is a hit along with the morning bun, croissants and Pain au chocolate. The only complaint is that they always run out, so go early!

Dining in Mission District Restaurants is a treat, something not to be taken for granted. Repeatedly comments read they wished they lived closer so they could sample the fares of the district on a regular basis. Many reviews, lots of food and many happy diners. Fall in love with the food, at least.
