Finding God's Will For Your Life

Finding God's Will For Your Life

By:

I've written a blog post for those who feel that God never gets around to showing them the big picture for their lives. For these people, doing the will of God isn't the issue--that's something they settled long ago. Rather, the issue is in finding the will of God.

I imagine that at least once or twice in your life, you've felt like God had you on a "need-to-know" basis. I mean, if baking a cake served as a metaphor for how your life lived, God simply handed the ingredients to you one-at-a-time without giving you any indication as to what kind of cake He wanted you to bake! You just poured and stirred and hoped everything came out right in the end.

At times I suppose you've felt like you were missing the will of God--probably because you unwittingly attached knowing the will of God to your behavior. Meaning, you thought only when you threaded the needle and did everything perfectly for God, would He reveal His plan for your life.

But thinking like this, and knowing yourself as you do--all of your shortcomings and failures--I imagine by now you might have given-up on the notion of recognizing His will for your life.

But for just a moment, I want you to look at the will of God differently. I want you not to see it as an end, but as a means to an end. Meaning, God has something He wants to do in your life, and He uses the desire you have to know His will as motivation to get you moving toward it.

In the blog post I've written, not only do I show you a unique perspective on the will of God, but I've also embedded into the article a three-and-a-half minute video that will help you take away a visual understanding of the will of God.

By posting this note at the end of the day, I'm banking on the fact that you have time to read the blog article and watch the video without interruption. Really all you need is about ten minutes of uninterrupted time.

Take ten minutes, read the blog and watch the video, then listen to what God has to say. At the end of the video, I give you a little exercise you can do to set you on a path to knowing God's will. But I'll warn you now, something greater than God's will awaits you on this path.

Press on in Christ!
