Finding Bathroom Design Apps

By:

Today there seems to be an app for your mobile device that will do just about anything. This includes apps that simplify bathroom design. These bathroom design apps fall into two categories: those which provide design images and ideas and those which allow you to create a virtual bathroom. You can also find useful websites that allow you put together your dream bathroom. Unless otherwise noted, all the apps are available at iTunes.

Houzz Interior Design Ideas: Houzz.com is the Internet's biggest database of home design images. It includes more than 70,000 photos and 150,000 ideabooks. Users can browse through images for bathroom design inspiration and create their own ideabooks. The Houzz app allows you to store idea photos right on your mobile device. You can take your bathroom images with you wherever you want, even if an Internet connection is not available. The app will also put you in touch with local contractors, architects, and designers.

Home Interiors Ideas HD: This bathroom design app includes hundreds of interior design pictures in six categories, including bathrooms. The images are in HD quality and can be presented in a slideshow format. The app also allows you to zoom in or out, save images to an account, bookmark images, or email them. It also includes a virtual interior museum, which gives you a tour of interiors from around the world, allowing you to be inspired by designs from Mexico, China, etc.

Bathroom Designs: Bathrooms are the sole focus for this bathroom design app. It consists of 734 photos in a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The program allows you to: zoom, rotate, pinch, view images as a slide show, save images, or use pictures as wallpaper. It has no ads and comes with free updates.
Hansgrohe @Home: Created by Hansgrohe, a company that makes faucets, showerheads, and other hardware, this bathroom design application has some neat features, but is limited in scope. Using the app, you can take a picture of your current bathroom faucet and then put a Hansgrohe faucet in its place. Then, by moving your fingers on the iphone screen, you can rotate and enlarge or shrink the faucet. You may save the image or email it. However, the app can only be used with Hansgrohe products.

Kohler: This is not an app for your phone, but a program which can be used on the website of Kohler, a bathroom products manufacturer. Using this bathroom design app, you can create a three-dimensional version of your dream bathroom. You start by drawing the bathroom walls, or by choosing one of their empty room templates. Then you can add Kohler fixtures from their virtual gallery, giving different models a try by swapping them in and out. You can change the floor plan, alter the colors of the products, or make any other changes you like.

3D Spacer: This website provides a demo mode for a program that is used by professional designers and interior design showrooms. You select a virtual bathroom shape and then choose different elements from a menu of common bathroom options, including different faucets, tub shapes, sinks, and vanities. When you are finished, you can see the 3D view of what the room will look like. You can change the colors in the room and select different bathroom elements based on their size from a catalogue of items.
