Finding a lost person can be an extremely complex process if the Internet is not used. In the old days, without the Internet, once only solution for finding missing people with to hire a private detective or pay expensive fees to companies who had databases of people around the country.

Today it's a different story though. We can use extremely reliable search engines to search for people who have been lost for many years and even decades. Oftentimes we aren't even aware if the person is still alive or not. In the vast majority of time, a correct and proper search on an established Internet search engine will yield results within seconds. Not only will you know if the person has died, it's often a simple matter to find their last known address.

Today so many of our every day operations are done online that are names, phone numbers, and addresses are often inputted into numerous databases that eventually become indexed by the search engines. When this occurs, a simple search of our name and/or phone number and/or address will often yield search engine results concerning our whereabouts.

There are free methods and paid methods on the Internet for finding missing people. The free methods of course simply involve using one of the free search engines available. When using one of the search engines is advisable to put the persons full name" so that only that exact name is being searched for. For example, if you are searching for a simple name and do not put quotes around the full name, you will have web results which have the term with the first name and the last name but not necessarily together.

Also, if you happen to know the persons last known phone number or address it's advisable to also put that into the search string as this can narrow down the search for the missing person. If you're lucky enough to be searching for a person who has a very unique name, the search process can be extremely simple and quick. However, if the persons name is very common, it may be quite difficult to find that exact person. In fact, there can be many hundreds of pages of search results when finding a lost person, with 10 results on each page, for a person who has a very common first and last name. This is the reason that it's better to also include the last known address and/or phone number for that missing person. Also, if you only know the city of their last known residence,insert that into the search string alone.
