If you are looking for pole dancing fitness equipment then look to Phoenix, Arizona based company Mighty Grip, which while selling a variety of sporting goods, but specialize in up-and-coming sport of pole dance fitness.

Mighty Grips original powder gripping aid product, was picked up by pole dancers and was used to improve their grip while performing their difficult dance routines. The product helps many novice and expert dancers develop more challenging routines and dance moves.

Mighty Grip has taken off as the pole dancing industry has grown. "As pole dance grew, the sport itself, our product moved along with it. Then, we started to get requests for protective gear because this is a contact sport," said Joel Bretan, the owner of Mighty Grip Inc.

The company has begun to phase out other sports equipment in order to focus on designing new products to provide to the pole dancers. "We're doing so well with pole dancing equipment, that it just does not pay to continue the other sporting goods," Bretan said. "We have found a niche, and so far it's working well."

The Mighty Grip powder is a powder substance that can be applied to any area of the body to provide better gripping power. The product is activated by body heat, so the warmer the body, the better it works. In the past, the powder has been used for golf, baseball and tennis. During the use of the powder in pole dancing fitness, the athletes often apply the powder to various locations on their body to provide the best grip on the pole.

Because of their niche market, Mighty Grip has begun to cater to the needs of the pole dancing athletes. They have created a line of protective braces and pads to be used while doing floor and pole routines.

The newest products offered by Mighty Grip include an ankle brace that can be worn with platform shoes and sole savers to protect the dancers feet.

The ankle brace has been designed to protect the dancers ankle while wearing shoes. The brace features a Velcro strap that connects under the arch of the shoe, providing the dancer with the support they need without taking away from their style.

"The product is really catching on," Bretan said. "We have been selling ankle protectors, but they could not be used over a shoe, so what we have done is made a protector with an open bottom."

The companys new Sole Savers, also provides the athletes with protection that was not available to them before. This product protects the ball of the foot, allowing the dancers to train longer, and build up more endurance when doing floor work.

"Because for a lady or a man to do a four or five minute routine on a pole, you've got about 40 hours of work to produce that routine, and they get pretty ripped up," Bretan said. "The body gets bruised, and we want to prevent that."

Mighty Grips products are now available in 67 countries all over the world, with distributors in Russia, Australia, England, South America and the United States. As the sport continues to grow, Mighty Grip vows to be there providing everything that the athletes to produce the best possible routines.

"The industry is booming, absolutely booming. To be honest with you, the United States is about two or three years behind the rest of the world," Bretan said. "I think you're going to see it quadruple in size in the next two years here in the United States, studios are popping up, and hopefully I'll be part of the group."
