London is the capital of United Kingdom. Since the rise of Capitalism in Britain past 16th century, London has seen tremendous expansion. Around 1500, London's population was around 50,000, which increased to 19 million by 1600, and further to 76 million in 1700.

Starting from the 1800's, London gained prominence as a major Global trade and financial point. Today, London is formed by the London and Greater London area which have their own mayor and elected assembly. London has the largest city GDP in Europe. UK's top 100 listed companies have headquarters in Central London.

Birmingham is the second largest city in the West Midlands country of UK. Its population is 1,016,500 as of 2007. At one time it was the powerhouse of the industrial revolution and was also known as the "World's Factory". Birmingham along with Halton Garden in London are two major jewelery producing cities.

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is a famous gallery and museum in Birmingham. It has the world's second largest collection of works by Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is art gallery as well as a concert hall. It holds world's largest and detailed coin collection.

Bristol is the largest city and ceremonial country in South West England. It consists of the largest traditional buildings and has the oldest port in UK. With an estimated 421,000 population and surrounding larger Urban Zone with an estimated 1,006,000 people, it is UK's eight most populous city.

It is famous for its music and film industry. Bristol has a principal theater company, the Bristol Old Vic, which was founded in 1946. The Bristol City Museum and Art gallery has a collection of natural history archaeology, Chinese ceramics and fine art. The Bristol Industrial Museum, which featured dock machinery, is under restoration and will reopen in 2011.

Leeds is a Metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. The population of the entire city is around 770,000 as of 2008. Leeds is the cultural, financial and commercial nerve center of West Yorkshire Urban Area.

It has large student concentration, and as a result there are a large number of bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs. Full range of music tastes are catered here. Leeds Carnival is oldest Western Europe's Carnival and attracts around 120,000 people and lasts over 3 days on the streets of Chapetown and Harehills.

Manchester is the metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, England. It has a population of 464,100 which makes it the seventh most populous district in London.

Manchester is historically connected to textile manufacture during Industrial Revolution and Manchester was the most efficient center of processing cotton then. It later became the largest market for cotton goods. Manchester's buildings have different architectural styles, from Victoria to contemporary. There is a great use of red brick all around the city.

Nottingham is city as well as unitary authority area in East Midland area of UK. It is one of the eight members of the Core Group of English cities. It has a relatively small population of 288,000, and the wider Nottingham area has a population of 666,000. It is seventh largest urban area in UK.

The city offers many attractions like Shakespeare's hometown, Cambridge and Oxford. Other attractions in the city include Museum of Art, Walton Manor Park, Nottingham Castle and a soothing and immensely beautiful countryside.
