Find Out If You Have Hazardous Hidden Mold In Your House

If you are worried that you have mold hiding in your home somewhere, it is probably because you think you have a reason to. Perhaps you have had a leaking pipe under a cabinet that has been there for a while. Maybe you have loose tiles or missing grout on your shower or tub surround. If you have tiles on your bathroom floor and have loose tiles or missing grout there, it could also be a concern. There are so many different things that can go wrong in a home that can cause you to get mold. You might be able to spot mold on the walls of a basement or even on the wooden structures in your attic, but you will have to look for it to know it is there. Other places like behind the tiles in a bathroom or even a kitchen, will not be as easy to spot.

If you have leaking faucets, sometimes water will sit or drain to someplace nearby where mold can develop because the water is constantly there. It could drain behind the back splash and onto cabinets, walls, or flooring. Looking at these areas closely can sometimes reveal mold. Stopping the water is the first step you must take and killing the mold is the next. You can usually take care of small deposits of mold like this on your own, but when you have hidden mold in larger areas like behind tiles in the bathroom, behind insulation in the walls, even underneath your flooring, you will need to bring in a professional mold remediation company to investigate.

These days a mold remediation company can use special detectors specifically designed to detect mold in hidden places like those mentioned. They can let you know without having to tear out walls or remove tiles whether or not mold is present. If you have any reason to suspect there might be hidden mold in your home, you should call in someone right away to have it checked out. The longer you wait, the more it could be growing and spreading.
