Find Out About The Classes Of Aion

By:

In Aion, NCsoft's recently westernized MMORPG, there are two races to choose from. These are the light-dwelling Elyos and the dark Asmodians who have been separated from each other for centuries since the Tower of Eternity was destroyed and the world was divided. But, aside from selecting a side of the planet to root for, there are also four basic classes that players may select from. These classes are Warrior, Mage, Scout and Priest. At level ten, the player must make a selection between two subclasses within each individual class. But, for now, let's just focus on the basics.

The Warrior, like in many other MMORPGs, is an easy character to master. Their tactic is more direct than others: that of brute force and a menagerie of cold steel. They are a reliable class, strong and good in close quarter combat. Important statistics of a Warrior are health, strength, and agility. A player who begins the path of a warrior must choose from the two subclasses of Guardian and Templar at level ten.

The Mage, like the Warrior, also has a familiar feel. While Mages are weak physically, they make up for what they lack in strength through powerful magic attacks. Throughout the game, Mages will master a variety of spells in the disciplines of fire, water, air and earth. Important statistics of a Mage are knowledge, health and will. Mages have two options to choose from at level ten: Sorcerer and Spirit Master.

The Scout is a stealthy character, one that combines swiftness of movement and deadly attacks in a lethal combination. Whether sniping the opposition with an arrow or sneaking up behind them with a dagger, the Scout is specifically designed danger that the enemy won't see coming. The important statistics of Scouts are agility and accuracy, but a selection between either subclass determines whether the character will be strong or high in health. A Scout's choice is between a Ranger and an Assassin.

The class of Priest should immediately bring to mind the role of a healer for any experienced gamer. Why, in a world of epic combat, would a player want to sit quietly in the background, casting spells of healing and protection over those engaged in combat? Well, Aion has solved this problem by not only allowing the Priests to excel in melee attacks, but also equipping them with long-ranged magic attacks. This makes the Priest at once an important supporting character in battle, and also a powerful character in their own right. The Priests are strong in will, but the path that they follow strongly dictates whether the character will be a master of strength, health, knowledge or agility later in the game. The Priests are Aion's most diverse character and their path diverges into the categories of Cleric and Chanter.

It is important to understand each class before making a selection at the beginning of game play. Each character is unique and powerful in their own right, and each has their weaknesses.
