It is important to understand where your satellite dish needs to be. It has to have a line of sight that is unblocked to the satellite. That means you will not want to put it on top of your house if you live under a thick canopy of trees. Anything that blocks the dish will effectively block the signal too. Many people choose a larger dish to get a better reception.

There are some worries that people have when it comes to a few things involved with having a satellite connection. You don't need to be concerned with the security of your documents or computer any more than any other type of connection. The info is not out there floating through space waiting to be seen. It is all encrypted. If you are scared of your satellite being struck by lightening you can have a lightening rod installed.
