Find A Good Car Mover By Watching For These Five Things

By:

Car movers accept quite a bit of liability when they agree to move your vehicle for you. So how can you find out if they will live up to that duty? Maybe they will just shrug off any accidental damage and simply hand you over to a large, anonymous insurance company.

Measure car movers against the following five tests let you sense the degree of responsibility he will feel for you.

A stand-alone business will be more concerned for you than a commission agent's office. So find out if the mover is commission agent for a larger business, or is an independent business.

Next, find out if the mover has several offices scattered around your new location because you'll get faster service if things go wrong.

Your car is likely to receive the best service from a member of a national association of car movers. If something happens to your car, the association will probably be able to help you. If the car mover has membership, there will be a code of conduct he needs to comply with. So reputable movers will be members of the American Moving and Storage Association, or another similar body. Find out if your mover does.

The better movers will not quote off the top of their head. They will ask for time to find out about your car, note things down, ask you questions and then prepare a formal estimate that specifies particulars of your car. This means, they will have a pricing system.

One last thing: is your mover talking to you? Is he clear, does he answer all the questions, does he accept your suggestions?

I would say, don't choose your car mover solely on price. Least costly is probably not the best. Instead look for a mover who will take responsibility for your vehicle.
