With the recession affecting most of the Western World, people are looking for options to cope with this turn of events. At the moment it seems all doom and gloom, but maybe that is the shake up you needed to realize that 9-5 is maybe not the way for you, the traditional investments you where advised all crashed and your property if you your lucky isnt losing value too much. Now is the time to think outside of the box and think about what you really want out of life.
Even at the current market many houses still have a lot of equity, but what to do with that money that is secure? What is you could buy a property, a real investment for a tiny percentage of the equity in your home in a country with a very low cost of living. Now suddenly you have a large home and have cut your living expenses dramatically all with a nest egg left in the bank of your choice. With the lower cost of living suddenly travel becomes easier, statistically it costs less per week the longer you travel for, but how much holidays does that not so secure job. Remember job means just above broke, is that a safe investment for you and your family. I didnt think so I put my money where my mouth was and have never looked back, been here in Bulgaria now for over 3 years, cheap living and lots of sunshine. We moved because back in the UK, even running my own business, I couldnt afford to take more than 3 weeks off in a row, the cost of living is too high and business being very competitive. In Bulgaria you could easily run the average family household, bills included for 500 GBP per month, see why your savings go a lot further, that pension that barely keeps you alive in the UK or USA, allows you to live like a king here in Bulgaria. Property prices are cheap, especially if you avoid the agents with their high mark ups, you can see why they are both a good investment and allow you to free up cash tied up in your present home. To give you an idea of costs, my water and electric on a three bedroom house this winter was less than 20 GBP per month, what was yours?
Thinking outside of the box will the average family to completely change their lifestyle, free up cash, reduce their cost of living dramatically and move to a place with a thriving Brit community.
