Fiestaware For Your Kitchen

By:

Fiestaware is ceramic dishware that comes in beautiful colors. The Homer Laughlin China Company is responsible for them, but people use Fiestaware as the brand name to characterize them. The company introduced the first line in 1930 and made some changes in 1936 when they became very famous. Fiesta ware can be found in all department stores today in some of the old colors and certainly in many new ones.

Fiestaware has the advantage that they are sold individually. This was innovative and became a great advantage as customers didn't have to get the whole collection or set but could get some items and try them. Moreover, there was no need to spend too much as you could start a collection and buy items as time progressed. This made Fiesta ware very popular. The other characteristic of Fiestaware is the beautiful and vivid colors. They made the dishware very attractive. You can be sure that you will find your favorite color or the perfect color to match your kitchen. You can also match it to an occasion. Take red pieces for the holiday for example or turquoise for summer vacations. When Fiesta ware started mass production porcelain was the trend. Fiesta ware was not the first to introduce colors, however the simple design and the low prices made the pieces popular.

Another advantage that the collection has comes from two facts combined. The first is the coloring and the second is that you don't have to buy a whole set. So the advantage is that customers can mix and match colors and create their own unique line. For example, you can get two white plates and two brown ones and celebrate autumn. You can get two turquoise and two pink and celebrate spring, you can get yellow and tangerine and reds and use them in the summer. You can also use the same colors in all plates and different colors in salad bowls or dessert plates. This way you can either match colors that complement each other or colors that come in contrast with each other.

For the history you should know that the first colors that appeared were green, red, blue, yellow and ivory. After some years there were colors that were added and others that were discontinued or replaced. Pink, gray, deep forest green, white and turquoise made their appearance soon. Black and apricot were also added. The company went through many phases but managed to stay popular. In fact they are so popular that there are tv shows and movies where the collection is used. The items were also popular for collectors who always look for colors that are limited or discontinued and have a value for them. Colors that were used in the beginning of the production and cannot be found anymore also have value. The recent ivory color was introduced for celebrating the first ivory collection that stopped production. There are also many more limited edition like the raspberry that was issued to celebrate the company's anniversary and others.
