For the second year in a row Fiat have managed to have the lowest average value for CO2 emissions for vehicles sold during 2008. This shows that Fiat are performing extremely well when it comes to producing 'green cars.'

Whilst you drive it monitors your driving style and then you can transfer the data into a computer. Fiat hope to implement the new technology across their collection of vehicles to help reduce CO 2 emissions and lower fuel consumption. Take the Fiat 500 Start & Stop - this model has been loaded with new technology to help lower the CO2 emissions. It also comes fitted with the EcoDrive system as standard, and a unique Start & Stop engine. The Start & Stop engine (as the name suggests) starts and stops the engine when it is needed to save you more fuel.

The engines in the Fiat 500 also meet the Euro 4 emissions standard and when the new standards are introduced in 2009 the engine will meet the tougher Euro 5 emissions standard - which ensures that the Fiat 500 is one green car! Eventually this technology will be found across a range of their cars.
