A golf cart is a small vehicle intended to carry around two golfers and their golf clubs around the golf course. This cart reduces on the amount of time and energy that one would spend to finish one round of a golf course.

To run an electric motor, the vehicle uses a bank of standard lead-acid batteries. The two most common power choices are 36 volt or 48 volt. In most cases, a 48 volt model offers better performance. You may also come across 24 volt and 72 volt models, but they are less common. In addition, the feature - regenerative braking helps recharge the batteries as the car slows or goes downhill, which help increase battery life.

Over the years, the design of these products has basically remained the same. However, some improvements have been made to the standard features. For instance, as the batteries of the carts have been improvised, they need not be recharged time and again. For this reason, at the present time, they run for comparatively longer periods of time. Further, a variety of modifications such as headlights, windshield wipers, brake lights, rear view mirrors, turn signals, etc, are also incorporated in several electric carts, which make working them on the roads securely.

A distinctive benefit of these carts is their price tag to operate. It can be five or 10 times more expensive to operate a gas model. For businesses buying quite a lot of vehicles, this alone can be sufficient reason to prefer electric golf carts. Indoor use is another deciding factor for many businesses. Emission-free electric golf carts can be used indoors.
