Festival Footwear And Accessories Made Easy

Its finally that time of yearfestival time! Whether youre off to Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, Download or something a little bit more low key, its time to start thinking about what youll want to take with, so here are some tips on what footwear, handbags and accessories you should take with you to a festival this summer.

Festival footwear

First and foremost, choosing what shoes to wear to a festival are one of the key areas that stumps festivalgoers because it depends on what the weather is going to be like, you dont want to be wearing sandals on a soggy wet field but you also dont want to be boiling in a pair of boots on a scorching day.

Of course, check the weather forecast before you go, although it cant be 100% accurate, it will give you an idea of what type of weather to expect and whether its going to rain or be warm, so tailor your footwear to suit the weather. Also bare in mind the location of the festival, especially if its on a field.

If youre unlucky enough to fall foul to the rain (like most festivals do!) then your best bet is to stick with wellies, even if its warm a pair of wellies will most certainly be your best friend. The great thing about wellies is that theyll keep your feet dry but they also wont be too warm on a hot day there are also some really funky styles of wellies around these days too, so theyll actually be an addition to your outfit.

Not keen on wellies? Then go for some fashionable military style boots or biker boots for a funky and quirky edge, team with a floral dress or playsuits for a girlie look thats perfect for festivals. Avoid sheepskin boots at all costs, rain will soak into them and theyll take ages to dry out.

If youve landed on your feet with a hot weekend then make the most of your favourite sandals, theyre the ideal festival footwear if youve got the weather, so work the bohemian style with some gladiator sandals. Forget about flip flops, festivals arent the place for them, neither are any styles of heels.

Festival bags

If like most girls you cant live without having your bits and bobs with you then think carefully about what type of bag to take with you. Youll probably have money, make up, hairbrush, phone, camera and maybe sun cream with you among other bits, so take this into account when choosing which bag to take with you while youre out and about.

You should also think about youll carry it around, your best bet is to go with a cross body bag, that way you wont have to worry about carrying it and youll be happy knowing its safe at all times. And also go for one with a zip top so all your belongings are safe in large crowds.
Festival accessories

We all know its the little touches that make the difference, so dont forget this at a festival either. Just a few pieces of jewellery and accessories can finish off your outfit perfectly. If youre working the bohemian look then think about adding some jewellery like a necklace, earrings or bracelet.

A scarf can also be a really useful accessory to pack; it can be used to keep warm around your neck or used as a pashmina if its cold or you could wear it as a funky head scarf if the sun makes an appearance. And of course not forgetting your trusty sunglasses; but dont spend a fortune on them, its just not worth it.

Think about how youll wear your hair too, you probably wont get a chance to wash and style it over the festival so perhaps think about taking some a hair band with you that will not only keep it out of your face and look fabulous but itll also stop it from getting greasy quickly.
