When it comes to the care and maintenance of the blinds they are often easier than real wood because they can be cleaned with normal ammonia based cleaners and often don't warp and bend like real wood. This allows you to use them over sinks and dishwasher or washing machines without having to worry if the wood will split in the future.

Some of the more modern advents in the blinds industry are the motorized blinds and the cordless blinds. Both of which are available with faux wood blinds as the main piece. Motorized blinds are great for windows that provide light to the room but are difficult to access, like high in the kitchen or bedroom.
