Fat Loss Data - How To Understand The Basics Of Losing Fat

By:

Sometimes the ability to lose stored fat seems almost impossible. Regardless of what you may do, the excess fat stored on your body will not come off. However, achieving this goal (to drop excess stored fat), is not really as hard as you might think.

Not understanding the fat loss procedure is usually responsible. It is essential to understand the nitty-gritty of fat loss before looking for a appropriate diet or weight loss program.

Calories are the energy that we derive from our food source. Fat is the result of unused and stored calories. Depending upon our targeted weight, a specific number of calories will be required to maintain that target.

If you more calories than required to maintain your desired weight, you will gain weight if you do not burn off the calories. 3600 calories will become one pound of stored fat. That is why it is crucial to watch what you eat because it is so very easy to store fat as opposed to burning it.

If you normally eat 2500 calories split between three meals a day but today you decide to eat at a fast food restaurant and have a large cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake. That meal will have about 1700 calories and takes roughly 20 minutes to eat.

That means that the 1700 calories, in that one meal, have the potential to turn into 1/2 lb of stored fat. You need to burn it off, however, burning off 1700 calories is not exactly easy. For instance, a half hour of walking will burn, perhaps, 150 calories. That means you would need to walk over 5.5 hours to burn off that one fast food meal. Unsurprisingly, this would be next to impossible.

Certainly, if you are already in shape, that one meal would be consumed by your metabolism more rapidly than it would if you were out of shape. And even if you did add half a pound of fat to your frame, it probably would not be noticeable. On the other hand, if you are not in shape, not active or watching your diet, then that meal will simply pile on more fat to your figure.

Since we are only talking about one meal here, imagine if you did this three or four times a week, were very sedentary, and paid no attention to the other dietary choices you make. Surprise , this is how a person can pack on 50lbs or more of extra weight in a very short period of time.

Simply put, if you regularly eat high calorie foods with low nutritional value, you will pack on excess fat. Not being active, or for that matter, even if you are active, you will find yourself gaining significant weight when your diet is out of control.

In conclusion, be sure to count your calories and watch what you eat . It will without a doubt, prove to be greatly helpful in the end.
