If you are like me you have struggled for years trying to manage your weight. I would lose 10-15 pounds then gain back 15-20 pounds. I was gradually working my way through even the plus sizes. But first, here are a few tips to make losing weight easier. Weigh yourself every day. Research has shown people who do that are more likely to lose weight and keep it off long term. Buy a measuring tape and take your measurements weekly. Keep a log of those measurements so you can see results! Finally start the diet program that worked and still works for me.

The first weight loss program typically researched by dieters is a low calorie diet. Even though literally hundreds of them exist that are used by millions of people, I have found and recent research has shown that low calorie diets do not work.

Once your body realizes you are eating less, it slows your metabolism because it doesn't want to starve. You cannot lose weight by reducing your calories on a daily basis, it just won't work.

Look around as you go about your day to day business. Do you really think low calorie diets work now? The heavy people you see have all probably been on one diet or another that restricts caloric intake. The results speak for themselves.
