Fast Food And The Reunion

By:

I have a very large family that is scattered all over the country. Every year we have a family reunion at a different relation location. This year we all went to my great aunt Wilma's home. She lives at the end of New York (Niagra Falls) near the Canadian border. Me and my family live in Florida. We were all in for a big trip! I'm the one that was in charge of the trip planning for all my family in and around my area. Believe me it wasn't easy. We pooled together our spending money and budgeted the trip.

It took us three days and nights to reach our destination. Between gas and lodging, our money was going quickly. We did not have the means for eating at the hotel restaurants, so we would stop off at the nearest fast food eatery. If it wasn't for these fast food restaurants, we never would have had enough money to finish our round trip. The trip was costly enough without having to worry about the food we were going to eat. But with the variety of these value restaurants, we were well fed for cheap prices.

In the morning we would head out for breakfast at McDonald's. Their coffee was great and the kid's loved their pancakes. We had coupons that made the prices even lower. For lunch we would stop off at another fast food spot where we could use our coupons. We drove up to the Burger King drive thru and ordered our food and sat down across the road where we saw a picnic table. There was plenty of food and we had fun eating outdoors.

We had one more day on the road and it was raining the whole day. Driving was a little tense so we decided to stop at a lodge a little earlier than usual. When we went inside to register for our rooms, we noticed that they had a Pizza Hut inside. Well I can't tell you how happy the kid's were. Us adults were kind of happy too. We haven't had pizza for a while and the change felt good. While we were walking to our room a couple of men were handing out coupons for all different kinds of food in and around the lodge. We were happy to get them. There were so many of us and with the prices we were paying for the rooms, we were glad to receive any discounts that came our way. Needless to say, we enjoyed our dinner and desserts. We didn't have to pay much at all when using the discounts we received and everyone had a nice and plentyful meal.

We were now ready to proceed to aunt Wilma's. We had 300 more miles to go and we were getting restless. After driving for about two hours, we pulled over to Taco Bell. We all got out of the car and went into the restaurant to order there inexpensive food. While we were on line I heard someone say "Wilma is that you"? I turned around and to my surprise, there was aunt Wilma standing in line waiting for her tacos. We were driving so long, we didn't realize how close we were to her house. We were so happy to see her.

The reunion went so well. Everyone had a great time and we didn't have to worry about eating on the long drive home. Aunt Wilma took care of that. She supplied us with food and her coupons for fast food for the trip back home. Next year everyone will be coming to my house for the reunion. I can't wait to see aunt Wilma.
