Fashionable Mens Pajamas For 2011

By:

Pajamas come in two types, (1) worn for comfort, and (2) worn to impress a date. There are soft cotton pajamas that are worn for comfort and there are fancy silk pajamas that are good for showing off, and hopefully removed for extracurricular activities in the night. There are other kinds of nightwear worn for comfort. One of our favorites is the long nightshirt, which looks like a very long t-shirt. Sometimes they have a few buttons at the neck. Think of Scrooge without his goofy hat.

They are just for comfort and really good when it is a bit chilly outside and there is a fire in the hearth. There are crazy pajama styles that are worn to bring out that inner child in you. When you excuse yourself as the night gets very late to go change into something more comfortable and you come back wearing Sponge Bob pajamas, you will definitely get a laugh. Let's just hope the laughing does not continue when you eventually take your pajamas off.

For the most part men wear pajamas for comfort. Just like there are men that like briefs instead of boxers, there are men that like to wear pajamas versus wearing only their underwear or wearing nothing at all. It probably comes from having a secure feeling from wearing the pajamas, maybe a happy childhood, or simply because wearing them feels more snuggle-like. There is definitely a climate influence on the choice of whether men like to wear pajamas or not.

As you would expect, in the colder climates, especially in the European colder climates, men routinely wear pajamas to bed, because the trend in Europe is not to heat the rooms at night. In the olden days after the fire in the hearth went out the rooms would get quite cold. That was the reason for heavy blankets, hot water bottles, and pajamas. A more practical reason than a fashion statement.

In the sixties and seventies, Hugh Hefner, the playboy extraordinaire, made it his fashion statement to wear pajamas all the time, presumably because he never like to be that far out of bed. With the bevy of beauties oozing attraction that constantly surrounded him, he had no reason to get fully dressed and no reason to go out of the house.

He even did television shows dressed in pajamas and that was his signature style. Now that he is getting much older, he stays in his Playboy mansion, still surrounded by a bevy of beauties, still in his pajamas but they are more likely to be giving him nursing care in bed than anything else.

One thing also to note is that you don't have to wear the full set of pajamas. You can wear only the lower half and look super cool, if your body is nicely defined. You would not want to try the reverse and wear the upper half only, because in that case you would look like you also needed to be wearing a diaper.
