Fashion Accessories Of The 20th Century - Cell Phones

By:

Your choice of cell phone says a lot about you. Are you a high-tech geek freak and have to have the latest gadget that does more things than your laptop computer? Or are you the minimalist type that likes a very small, very sleek mobile phone, that functions mostly to let you receive calls and has the design like a slim fashion wrist watch? Are you a touch screen aficionado, or do you prefer the phone to have keys to push? Can you read the small screen without putting on your glasses? Are your fingers too big to use the buttons? All of these considerations and more need to be thought about when choosing the proper cell phone.

And then there is the Ringtone. Those annoying rings! You try soaking them out, you try scrubbing them out and you still come out with "Ring around the Collar." Wait a minute, that is not what we a talking about! That is a different kind of ring, still whether it is the ugly ring around your collar or the loud obnoxious ringtone, both those type of rings are annoying.

Your choice of a ringtone is probably even more important than the choice of the mobile phone, because everyone gets to hear your ringtone, when your phone is still in your pocket, even before they get to see your phone. OK, you say you have a Bluetooth headset, the kind that plugs into your ear and the only one that hears the ring is you. Fine, except remember there are other people around you, wherever you may be, that may not see your super small super techie Bluetooth device stuck in your ear, or if they do see it they may confuse it with a modern hearing aid.

Since you may be talking very loudly when you are on the phone (there is no reason for this really, but almost everyone raises there voice to talk on a cell phone) they may think you are deaf and start talking back to you even more loudly. Of course you will not be able the hear them because you are talking on the phone. The only difference between a crazy person wandering down the street talking out loud to themselves and an yuppie doing the same thing is the yuppie has a cell phone. Which brings us to another point, if you are going on a date, leave the cell phone at home, or turn it off.

There is nothing more rude, more annoying, and more insensitive that a gentleman out on a date, where he ignores his date in order to talk on the phone. It says you do not care for the company you are with and whoever who wants to can interrupt you for the slightest reason, and they are more important than your date. I don't care even if it is your mother calling - tell her you will call her later, hang up the cell phone and turn it off. Besides picking a cell phone that does what you want, choosing a modest ringtone that does not sound like Godzilla just stomped, the best phone etiquette is knowing when to turn it off.
