Fantasy Novels Associate With The Challenges That Face Young Adults

The popularity of mystical books has made a comeback as younger generations of readers are exploring the fantasy worlds of distant lands and eras of time. New generations of readers who have grown up with wizards and magical schools are looking for the next series of fantasy novels for young adults that will capture the imagination and take the reader to a world outside their own. The young adult fantasy book genre, which has been difficult to tap into for many authors; offers an escape for teens from the strains of their adolescent years.

Many kids find that the awkward stage of life in between childhood and becoming an adult to be a difficult time for them. Frustrated with the changes that are taking place inside their body boys and girls are quite often misfits in their own peer group and many face the challenge of being accepted as they are working out who they are and who they are becoming.

Perhaps one of the most trying times in life are the years spent in adolescence. For this reason many teens look for an escape into the fantasy novels that have characters they can associate with and storylines that draw parallels to the challenges that are faced by the youngsters on a daily basis. Where video games and the Internet provide distractions for the younger generation a lot of teens find solace and comfort in the pages of the mystical books that appear to have been written specifically for them.

Seeing the success of vampire and werewolf stories as well as spells and sorcerers that are drawing millions of teenage readers from around the world the stories of mythical adventurers living in different times seems to be the topic of many authors that are appealing to the younger audiences through their work. Stretching the imagination and showing teens that what they face can be overcome as the characters in the fantasy novels for young adults gives renewed courage to the reader teens associate with the trials and difficulties that must be overcome in order to conquer their own doubts.

In many stories the hero has to follow a path that shakes up their life and gives them newfound talents as they overcome obstacles in their quest. Relating to peer pressure, relationships with family members and testing the moral fiber of the characters in the books that are written for young adults continue to embrace the same feelings of insecurity and hesitation to follow the heart that every teen eventually has to come to grips with on their own. What makes a great story for the reader is one that they can identify with which is why so many authors are successful in their appeal to the audiences that pick up a young adult fantasy book and are whisked away by the intrigue and drama of a story that is an exaggerated mirror of what they are experiencing in their own life.
