A reasonable number of people suffer from insomnia (sleeplessness) without knowing it. While Acute Insomnia on the other hand will deny you natural sleep consistently for a period of three weeks to six months. And Chronic Insomnia occurs for years at a given time.

This chronic type may be a dominant ailment or one caused by a different ailment. Its consequences vary resulting from various causes. Consequences may include: muscular fatigue, sleepiness, hallucinations, etc. Insomniacs of this type of ailment may also portray high alertness and see things in slow motion.

The four different patterns of insomnia which reflect when natural sleep is inhibited are: onset insomnia; to fall asleep fast at the initial stage of sleep is prevented here and this usually comes as a result of anxiety disorder, Middle of the Night Insomnia: this type is associated with inability to return to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night.

The other two patterns of insomnia which can also display when you can't fall asleep fast are: middle insomnia - which is like middle of the night insomnia disturbs sleep, preventing sufferer from going back to sleep once the person has woken up. Finally, you have terminal insomnia a.k.a late insomnia which makes sufferer to wake up earlier than normal.

One important step you must take before any other in order to ensure you fall asleep fast at bed time is for you to try as much as possible to relax your brain, your entire body before going to bed. This means you will forget about all that transpired in the course of your day and do things which will make you relax, releasing you from tension and stress of the day. After all the next day is another day. Have a good night rest.
