Even before Occupy Wall Street the cry for equitable business practices was being chanted around the world. Fair trade coffee and clothing started the drum beat towards reasonable pay and just conditions for living and sustainable survival. Occupy Wall Street has now upped the anti to include so much more than the coffee communities and supply routes.
The ideals of fair trade coffee are for there to be the ability for just living and the ability for communities to work towards sustainable survival. This keeps a community from poverty, poor or no education, good sanitation, and a new revived healthy community that will live well and thrive. This is not a manner for greed like those that are angered by the message of Occupy Wall Street. This is an attitude of a forward motion survival and well tune community life. Think of the children who are allowed to live in a clean environment, a community with warm clothes, good houses, clean water for drinking, and provided health care. Think of a community that is given the chance to stave off hunger and be educated for a better and growing future. This is what fair trade coffee allows for. This is part of what Occupy Wall Street is fighting for. Large corporate greed and commodity profit remove hope from many communities and people around the world. The top 1% rich get richer and the rest of the people slowly fall into a more hopeless state of just hanging onto their dignity as they loose survival ground.
