Factors To Consider When Buying A 3d Tv

By:

When buying any major household purchase most smart consumers will do their homework beforehand, to make sure they get the right product at the right price. With 3D TVs being the latest technology to be released many people will want to find out about this new wave of TV sets coming into our local electronics shops.

3D TVs use tricks of the eye to create a stereoscopic image much like how our eyes are able to do this with everyday objects, with our two eyes being spread apart from one another it allows us depth perception as our eyes are using two images to create one 3D image in our mind. This is what 3D televisions are able to do with the help of specialist glasses that only allow one out of two images into each eye at any given time.

When buying a 3D TV there are a number of points to bear in mind such as the size, inputs and a number of other features that relate to 3D TVs specifically such as the number of 3D glasses that you get with your TV.

Obviously the bigger the better (or more immersive) applies when it comes to 3D TV size, although the effect is the same with any size of TV set having a large screen will obviously have the benefit of providing a larger image that more people can view without any negative effect such as being sat further away from the TV screen.

The main statistic relating to 3D televisions is the refresh rate at which the image on the screen updates, this needs to be high (above 120fps) in order for the 3D image to look natural and the motion of the image to look natural. The quicker the refresh rate, the smoother action will look on TV and this has additional benefits for when using a 3D TV to watch standard 2D programming as it will be clear no matter how quickly the image is moving such as in sports like tennis and football.

3D TVs often require a set of specialist glasses to be worn in order to get the desired effect but not all manufacturers provide the same amount of glasses, some will provide 2, 4 or even just one pair of glasses with each purchase with additional sets available if you need more or need to purchase a replacement.

These are just some of the factors to consider, but they are the main considerations you should make when you are planning on buying a 3D TV, so do your homework first.
