Facebook Timeline Is Coming To Everyone

Not interested in Facebook Timeline? You will be! Whether you like it or not, Facebook timeline is coming to everyone. Although it is currently opt-in, it will eventually become compulsory.
There are 9 things you need to know about timeline before you go live.
Theres a seven-day review period. Once you go live the change will be significant and things that you have in your timeline may not be where you want them to be, in which case you have seven days to review and edit you timeline before it goes public. At the end of the seven days your timeline will go public automatically.
Your cover photo makes a statement. With the new facebook timeline layout instead of your profile picture in the top corner, your cover photo will stretch across the entire width of the page. This is your chance to make a splash. This cover-shot is separate to your profile picture, so it can be anything you want.
Nothing new is being shared. The idea is to make access to your historical posts easier and faster, but nothing is being shared that was not available before its simply easier to access with timeline.
Your privacy settings will remain the same. Wherever you have set privacy settings on posts these will remain unchanged by timeline, so if you have set something to private it will remain private with timeline. However, with much more historical information more readily available you might want to review whether the old privacy settings are still valid.
Posts can be expanded. Timeline tries to ensure that the most interesting posts are given the highest prominence by expanding those that have the most likes and comments. However, if you have a post that you want to give more prominence to, you can expand it on your timeline so that it is more visible to your friends.
Use your new control centre. New to Facebook timeline is the activity log, which is accessed from your profile and serves as your control panel where you can edit or delete any activity in your profile. This allows you to manage which posts appear in your timeline, where they appear and who can see them.
Your post can be exclusive. If you want to post something but dont want to share it with everyone else, you can choose to make it private by ticking the settings icon below the share button. Through this, you can choose whether to share your posts publicly, with a few friends or keep it for your eyes only.
Share your previous life events. In the new facebook timeline, you can upload old pictures or events that you want to include in your account. By setting the date on which it occurred, it will be slotted into your timeline in the correct location. With this feature you can add event from before you ever had a Facebook account.
Theres no sense in holding out. Whether you like it or not Facebook Timeline will go live in the near future. Dont be a newbie, because theres no holding back, just make sure that what is shared in your timeline is what people should be seeing.
With timeline coming soon to every facebook users, why not jump on board now and get it set up exactly as you would like it to be seen.
Be Sociable, Share!
