Extreme Fat Loss Diet-water Makes A Difference

By:

You've probably have heard for years that you need to consume 64 ounces of water daily. If you're seriously trying to lose weight, you might actually want to following this advice!

Why consume water?
Water is a natural diuretic. The more water you drink, the more toxins and unnecessary fluid will be flushed out of your system. When you first commit to drinking water, you'll feel as though you're constantly running to the bathroom. But this is a good thing. Your body is getting rid of fluid that has been stored for quite some time, usually in your feet, ankles, and stomach. Once your body is rid of the old fluid and realizes that you're staying well hydrated, the need to run to the bathroom will lessen.

Water revs up your metabolism. The liver converts stored fat to energy. However, when you deprive your body of water, the kidneys won't work properly and the liver has to help the kidneys out. Thus, the liver isn't able to convert stored fat very quickly to energy. Yet, with plenty of water, the liver can do its job and metabolism is greatly improved.

Water takes the edge off of hunger. Many times when you're feeling hungry, you're actually thirsty. By sipping a cup of water, you'll discover that it satisfies you and you're no longer thinking about food.

Water energizes you. When your body isn't getting enough water, you may find that you're tired or sluggish. However, by drinking water throughout the day, you'll discover that your energy level increases and that you won't feel the need for a nap or just being lazy.

What if I don't like the taste of water?
When possible, drink plain water. If you're exercising, you'll likely to be thirsty enough that the taste won't bother you as much. Other times though, add a slice of lemon or lime to the water. It will provide you with a refreshing taste. Consider filling up a two quart pitcher with water, ice and citrus slices and you'll have it readily available throughout the day.

Some of your water intake can be replaced by unsweetened tea or zero calorie flavored water. However, limit these. If the tea contains caffeine, it can actually make you retain fluid. Most flavored waters contain artificial sweeteners which aren't the best for you.

Using flavored water or lemon water, make your own popsicles. Whether it's frozen or liquid, water is water!

Is there an easy way to keep track of how much water I'm consuming?
There are numerous ways of keeping track of water consumption. You need to find a way that works well for you. Here are a few ideas:
Fill a 1/2 gallon container with water.
Recycle and fill 4 water bottles.
Place 8 rubber elastic bands on your left wrist, each time you drink 8 ounces of water, switch a band to the right list.

So how about it. If you're serious about wanting to shed excess pounds, then how about being serious about drinking more water?
