Extreme Fat Loss Diet-4 Weight Loss Tips

By:

Do you find losing weight to be frustrating? Are you at a point of seriously needing to lose weight but you're haunted by past weight loss failures? There's still hope!

Weighing well over 200 pounds, my doctor told me that if I didn't start losing weight that he would be urging me to consider the gastric band surgery. I've known people who have done the surgery and have had success. Yet, I wanted to be able to lose weight without surgery. I wanted to once and for all get a grip on my eating habit and get it under control.

Now having lost 95 pounds, I finally feel that I control my eating and I feel great. My blood pressure has dropped considerably, I'm no longer on meds for high cholesterol and I don't need to use a c-pap machine at night to sleep. Just those changes alone make the weight loss well worth it! But I will admit that for the first time in a long time, I like how I look.

So what's made losing the weight this time around different than the numerous other times? I followed these four tips:

Tip #1. No soda pop. Whether it's regular pop or diet pop, I gave up all pop. As you know, regular pop is loaded with sugar which packs on the weight. Diet pop is loaded with sodium which actually can make you retain water. It has a high sodium level to help add flavor to the drink. Instead of pop, I now drink lots of water, Crystal Light once in awhile and herbal teas.

Tip #2. No high fructose corn syrup products. This was an eye opener for me! There were products that I thought were healthy choices, but when I read the labels, I discovered that they contained high fructose corn syrup. I've discovered that when I don't consume these products, I don't crave sugary snacks.

Tip #3. Strategically plan on special treats. I would weigh myself just once a month on a Saturday. That night I would go out to dinner with a friend and have whatever I wanted. I knew I had a month to work it off. I also love ice cream. If I really wanted to go out for ice cream with friends, I would walk the two miles to the ice cream shop and order a small cone. Then one of my friends would drive me home afterwards. If a month had five weeks in it, I would allow myself a splurge day during the fifth week. I would have any special treat I wanted. By planning on having treats, it kept me on track during the other days.

Tip #4. Keep a food journal. For whatever reason, when you have to record every morsel you eat and every drink you swallow, it makes you think twice about what you put into your mouth. Even though I'm at my goal weight, I will continue to keep a food journal.

If you're ready to give losing weight another try, then try these tips. You'll discover that you're making healthy lifelong changes and not just trying another diet.
