Himalayas are like a crown on the face of earth. The Himalayan mountain range is so prominent that it can be seen from hundreds of miles away from the sky. Himalayan range is not only full of mountains it is also famous for its beautiful lakes, alpine meadows, rushing rivers and pristine natural beauty. There are numbers of places in the Himalayan range which are popular tourist attractions and an open invitation for people from all over the world to witness this natural wonder. Following are few such important places which interest many westerners.

Nepal: Nepal is home to worlds 10 highest mountain peaks including the mighty Everest. It is also very famous for many adventure sports and hundreds and Thousands of visitors flock Nepal every summer. Nepal also hosts the base camp where many mountaineers practice for their quest to conquer Mt. Everest.

India: Northern part of Indian from East to west is covered with the Himalayan range. Ladakh in the north-west and Sikkim in the north-east are the two very famous Himalayan tourist destinations within India. Ladakh has a very unique geography in terms of its dry mountains and beautiful lakes. It is also an important centre of Buddhist religion.

Tibet: Tibet lies in southern China and is well known for its beautiful landscapes and centre of ancient civilization. You can take various treks in Tibet which would take you down the lanes of ancient history. People here are very simple and still follow the age old customs and rituals in this modern era. Tibet is full of cultural richness and it wont be bad idea to spent extra day or two here to learn how simple things can make life stress free.

Bhutan: Bhutan is a small Himalayan kingdom located between China and India and lies on the eastern side of Nepal. This small country is famous for its challenging treks and many trekkers from all over the world coming here to negotiate these treks. Monasteries in this country are also quite a work of art and worthwhile visiting.

Mongolia: Mongolia has quite a history and contributed heavily in current political frontiers of Asia. By in current times Mongolia is not much in news because things are still pretty simple back there. This land of nomads still likes to live way back in history and provides excellent opportunity for visitors to have a firsthand experience of how nomads lived hundreds of years ago here.

Each of the above destinations are a complete trip in itself but still if you plan to visit Asia make sure you explore more than one of the above mentioned Himalayan wonders.
