You have to have a complete pellet mill assembly if you want to create sustainable pellet supply. Most of the time, A entire pellet mill assembly or a pellet mill production line, from raw material processing to final biomass pellet packing, it mainly consists of Crushing, Drying, Pelletizing, Cooling and Packing, we break down the method into three stages:
1. Raw Material Handling System (Chipper, Crusher and Dryer)
- Wood Chipper: you will need a wood chipper to chip these materials into smaller pieces, If the diameter of the sawdust is larger than 10mm, or size bigger than 50*50mm.
- Hammer Mill: After the wood chipper breaks down the material into smaller pieces, a hammer mill is needed to crush the material into powder particle with a diameter less than 3mm.
- Dryer: optimal moisture content for pelletiztion is 13%-15%. And the optimal moisture content percentage for pelletiztion is 10%-15%.
2. Pelletizing System (pellet mill)
In this stage, it comes to the most significant part of making pellets, and it is also the heart of the pellet mill production line.
The application of pellet machine can process wood, straw, and other biomass sources into pellets, with a capacity ranges from 1T to 10T per hour.
3. Packing System (Cooler and Packing machine) You couldnt leave the pellet aside after it is made up of the pellet machine. There are two steps is necessary.
- Cooling: A cooler is employed to reduce the temperature from the newly-made pellet from 80 degrees to 35 derees and reduce the moisture to insure the quality of the pellet; otherwise it will break up very easily.
- Packing: Finally is the packing process. A packing machine can protect the wood pellets from getting damp making it more convenient for storage.
The above mentioned equipment is for a large standard pellet production line. However, it doesnt mean each of the pellet maker should have them. In response to their scale of production and requirement, each pellet maker assemble their pellet mill line.
