Located in the Pacific Ocean, Japan is an archipelago of nearly seven thousand islands offering a wide variety of activities and places to visit. It is a place of great cultural heritage and is known for its beautifully constructed temples and shrines. Known as the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan is a country where you can find people living both, traditional as well as modern lifestyles. The place is full of contrasts, where you can find a tall skyscraper right next to an old, beautiful, temple.

Since Japan is quite influenced by the western culture, it is not hard to find a good mall or a decent place to have lunch. The people are extremely polite and are very interested in their guests. It is a great place to visit and finding out about the Japanese culture is extremely interesting. They have many unique customs which many may find awkward, but these do seem to make sense to the Japanese and their enthusiasm is what one will be surprised by.

You can visit the Ise Shrine, which is arguably the holiest Shinto shrine in the world. The shrine is located in the city Ise which is in Mie Prefecture. Another great destination is Himeji, which has the finest castle in all of Japan. Around the 1500s it was the biggest castle in Asia. Himeji is located at the western edge of the Kansai region of Japan. You can get to the Kansai International Airport by plane, since Himeji does not have its own airport. You can get to Himeji by train or take a bus. Japan has three something called the three great views must visit. They are the Matsushima Bay, Amanohashidate and Miyajima. Amanohashidate means bridge in heaven and it truly does look like one.

Shopping is another thing you can do in Japan, where you can find a number of different consumer products for a great price. If you are a video game person or are interested in comics and animation, Japan is the place to go. You will find a variety of different games and it is one place where comics are taken very seriously.

Tokyo, being the capital city, has a great number of western brand hotels which have five-star ratings and are great places to stay in while you are in Japan. Osaka is another place where you will find western hotels. Outside of Tokyo and Osaka, there are no western brand hotels, but you can still find local Japanese hotels which are very decent. Japan hotels have a lot of unique things you can find in them and they are bound to surprise you. You can also opt to stay in a capsule hotel. A capsule is a room which is about 2x1x1 meters. These capsules are placed in a hall which can contain ten or more capsules.

Staying in Japan is a great experience for many and it is a place one must visit. You will find the place beautiful and the people are amazing. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of places to visit and you will not be left with nothing to do even for a short minute.
