Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!

After working in the fitness biz for quite sometime, I am still amazed on how people make excuses for being out of shape. First it's the job, then once that is situated, it's the spouse/significant other. Then the real BIGGY, kids! I guess I can't say I know from experience on the last one. However, if you really WANT to look great and feel great-- bottom line is stop making excuses. Do what you can with great enthusiasm and focus and will be surprised on what your body can acheive if your in the right state of mind. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from getting to where you want to be. Your gonna get sidetracked with things that come up all of a sudden, but be willing to make necessary adjustments so you can stay on course. Ask this question to yourselves. Why do I exercise and try to take care of myself? Give it some good thought and write it down on a piece of paper. I'm sure you will come up with some real goodies. Once that's done, make it visible where you can see it easily when your home. Heck you may even wanna tape it inside your car or truck. Anything to keep the imperative reasons in front of you will give you the ability to make and keep exercise and healthful eating a part of your lifestyle. Here are a few pointers for ya:

1. If you want to burn bodyfat, do aerobics early in a.m. even just for 20 minutes of alternating slow and fast speeds.
2. Short on time? Lift only 2x's per week in a circuit fashion and give yourself 30-45 mins. to complete the workout.
3. Do abs and low back exercises at home with a stability ball and dumbbells. It saves time at the gym and you can do these exercises easily in the comfort of your home.
4. Make food in bulk if your not going to be home for most of day. You gotta plan ahead a bit, but once you do it, it makes things a heck of a lot easier.
5. Try to get at least one of your family members/friend involved with exercise so you will be more consistent, or hire a good personal trainer for expertise, motivation, and accountability.
6. If you "fall off the wagon" don't stress. Get back on it by focusing on what you want out of your program. Continue to do the thing you were doing.

Like I said a few weeks ago, I don't just want to write about physical, because the mind plays such an integral role in your success, it can't be ignored. Hopefully these tips can help you adhere to your exercise/nutrition regimen. Most importantly, cut out ALL the excuses and get back on the road to a more fitter you.
