It all started with few like minded fun loving people getting together in 1970s and organizing a fun-filled dance party which would go on throughout the night. In the initial years these parties were known as Acid Dance Parties and very characterized by exciting music and lot of booze. Music was the main essence of these parties and hence the best DJs in town would gather and enthral the audience with all sort of different music. The music which was mostly played in these parties included Electro, Trans, Break beat, Dub step and hard style. The live performances all throughout the night would just make people crazy and fall in love with these parties.

It was little later that the term Rave came into existence and became popular all over the world. These wild parties gained popularity within no time and the word spread like a wildfire all across Europe. Soon these parties became a platform where working class individuals would come and have a nice time. Young people from different walks of the life would come and attend rave parties. It came a platform where people would meet, enjoy and often opinions about different things.

It was long before drugs cast their shadow on these parties. The use of contraband substances such as cocaine, ketamine, amphetamines was gaining popularity in rave parties. Government authorities were made aware of this fact and they started banning such parties in different countries. Many people thought it was a direct attack on their freedom and protested against such a crackdown by government authorities. In spite of the fact many stringent steps were taken to discourage such parties they continued to take place in away from eyes of the law. It was this time when the entire world was made aware to what was rave all about.

Gradually rave gained momentum again as it was supported by press and many different sectors of the society. Soon there were special magazines related to rave and every month more than one rave music albums were being released. Then came the era of internet which had no censorship and people could freely communicate with like minded people all across the globe. The firepower of rave was reignited by advent of internet. Now rave lovers were able to meet, communicate and plan rave parties on the internet.

Not after lo long rave was seen as a special niche segment by the business community and special products were launched to suit the requirements of rave goers. Today there are many internet websites which sell thousands of merchandise which are specifically made for rave parties. The use of these products has also made rave even more exciting and enjoyable.
