Exams You Need To Take

To be a Masters in Business Administration is what you are aiming at then you should strategize the way you are preparing for the colleges you want to be in. These are good times to be in a B-school but you should also remember that your career and placement will depend on the B-school that you go to. Average salary in various colleges range from 20 lakh per annum to 2 lakh per annum, depending on the MBA College that you choose to go to complete your degree.
The first step when you think of being an MBA is to find out that what exams you should take to be in one of the best B-school. We are in the process of preparing an exhaustive list of the exams that take place every year. You can chose from the following list and decide what exam do you want to take.
CAT
Every year CAT is taken by lakhs of students across the country, it is held by the various Indian Institute of Managements on a rotational basis. A good CAT score is important to be in the best B-schools of the country.
Graduates with 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA are eligible for entry into top B-schools after clearing the cut offs required by them. A 5 per cent relaxation is given in case of SC/ST and differently abled candidates.
The notification for CAT comes out every year by mid August and the last date of submission of the form is September. The notification is published on the official website for CAT and comes out almost in all national dailies.
GMAT
Planning to go abroad to a good B-school, or do an executive MBA after 5 years of experience, or do a PhD from foreign universities, then you should take GMAT. A good score in GMAT can land you in one of the top B-schools around the world.
GMAT scores are used by more than 5,000 graduate management programs at approximately 1,900 schools. It is a computer adaptive examination administered year-round at test centers throughout the world.

MAT
There is huge requirement of managers and not everybody gets a good score in CAT. MAT is your chance to get an MBA degree from a good enough B-school. Most B-schools in India accept the MAT score.
The other advantage when you sit for MAT is that you can give the exam almost four times a year thus increase your chances to get a good score in any one. Most colleges contact you when you get a good score in the exam.
To take the exam you should be a graduate in any field or in the final year of graduation. The college you will get will depend on the percentile that you will achieve.
XAT
XLRI is one of the top ten B-schools in India and if you aim to be a part of it you should appear for XAT. XAT is also accepted by more than 70 B-schools around the country. For registration to appear for the exam you should visit the website of XLRI.
The exam id held sometime in January and the notification is September or October and the last date to apply for the exam is November.
