Most people think that black shoes are one of the necessary building blocks of anyones wardrobe whether you are a man or a woman. This has been true in the past and it has always been and will always remain a good idea to have at least one pair of black shoes with you in your wardrobes as a pair that is your back up when nothing else matches with your outfit.
An increasing number of designers though and an increasing segment of the fashion world has gotten tired of black and is now concentrating upon the colour brown. Every few years one hears the favourite phrase of the fashion world about what colour is the new black and well this year it is the turn of brown as the fashion world seems to have made its decision with the latest collections that were on show this season. Brown is the new black.
Fashion designers and major manufacturing labels all eschewed black and the colour was consciously and very noticeably absent from their fall winter clothing collections that were shown recently in all the fashion weeks and fashion shows in the stylish fashion capitals of the world. What was very apparent though was that either by some strange coincidence or by consensus they had all arrived at a new favourite colour and brown was the colour of choice.
The ramps and catwalks at these shows and fashion weeks were awash with shades of brown from camel colour to a dark tan to a deep chocolate brown. Brown blazers, brown jackets and brown jumpers were complemented by earth hued accessories like beautiful brown shoes in buttery soft looking leather.
A lot of common wisdom states that one should never mix brown and black coloured elements in ones outfits but once again the fashion world turned its own dictated wisdom on its head as it so often does. Brown was paired with great results with all the colours that we have been warned that it clashes with.
Brown shoes with tapered black trousers for men and brown stilettos with royal blue skirts for women looked perfectly stylish and not even a bit of clashing or jarring in their colour palettes was apparent.
Now that these collections are in stores, fashionable people whether they are men or women have a change to actually be bold and buy and wear these new styles and these new colours themselves and see if they have the style and panache to carry them off gracefully.
