Every Job Is A Sales Job

By:

When people change to direct sales as their career choice, they can sometimes get hung up on the idea that 'salesperson' is a bad word. Being fortunate enough to have your own home-based business and fire your boss should make you happy, but you should also have pride in what you do. In case you have bought in to the idea that all sales jobs are bad, it is time to realize that almost all jobs involve sales.

Some Examples

While not everyone has a high opinion of lawyers, it is a career path that is regarded with much esteem. An attorney goes to school for years and has to pass the bar just to be able to begin this line of work. Not a sales job though, right? Well, how do you think he or she gets clients? He competes against other lawyers to convince potential clients to buy his service over the others. Then, once in the courtroom, his entire job is to sell the judge or jury on his presentation and view of the subject. He hopes, of course, the judge or jury will 'buy' his case.

A doctor is another job which requires selling. Aside from trying to market and sell himself or herself to members of the local community to support his or her business practice, he or she also sells patients the diagnosis. He is claiming he has learned everything required to understand medical science and that his view of your health is correct. If you've ever seen a doctor get a bit miffed when told by a patient that the patient would be getting a second opinion, it's because the doctor feels he didn't sell his expertise well enough.

Going Forward

With this in mind, it is time to stop simply seeing yourself as just a salesperson, if that is the attitude you have chosen to adopt. You have a career as an entrepreneur who owns his or her own home-based business. You are setting out to help other people improve their lives. You are pursuing a path that can lead to being a successful millionaire and enjoy the quality of your life.

As you move ahead with your internet marketing platform, keep this in mind as you plan your approach. While it is important to use some techniques, tricks and tips which are to help improve sales, these are just proven guidelines to follow to reach people. The ability to genuinely get people to open up to you and respond is where you are different than a salesperson, at least the negative stereotype.
