Even Big Kids Love Water Toys

By:

There is something that compels a child passing by a mud puddle. The temptation to stomp their feet in it is almost irresistible. Sometimes it overcomes them and many a child has given in soaking socks, shoes, all for that one moment of liquid pleasure. Some say it is just the impulsiveness of being a kid and the consequences are not given a thought.

One of the most popular water toys is a squirt gun. They have been around for years. They started out just being small plastic handguns, but there is a new generation of water guns today. They are huge and pack a lot of power. These new babies can be filled with a quart or more of water and can blast long, hard streams.

It seems little kids are not the only ones who like these new gadgets. Even adults can not resist stealing a luxury model squirt gun like this away from a child to share in the fun. These water rifles are fun for anyone who picks one up. Just be careful who you shoot it at because not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for water.

Water balloons are another old standard that kids love. Fill a balloon with tap water, tie it off, and you have a perfect weapon filled with fun. You also have to be careful throwing these water filled treasures because they can actually sting when they hit you and break open. The water might not be the only shock they deliver.

The biggest water toy of all might be the blow up or solid plastic wading pool. These are great for toddlers and anyone else who can manage to fit. Adults just want to see if they can fit and they do not want to let the kids have all of the fun. Even the wading pool has been improved over the years. They can have little slides or a blow up palm tree just to add to the ambiance.

In relationship to the wading pool is the slippery slide. It is a long trek of plastic that lies on the ground. Kids run and slide down the length of it as fast as they can. It is a wonderful way to keep cool in the summer and adds a little adventure in the process. Although these slides that lie on the ground are generally safe, kids do have to run and hit the ground to slide on them. You should make sure that there are no near by obstacles they could hit in case they slide off the mat.
