First Things First: Which Ship Is The Best?

I know you're going to hate this - but it really does depend. I know, I know, you really want a straight answer that you can run with and get that particular ship. But let me explain:

Different people focus on different things. For instance, you might want to be the fastest, most mobile, and the "quickest escaper." That is a really cool thing to be, as you will have a lot of power in being very quick and evasive.

But, you might also want to be the best offensive players. You might want to be that one person who can kill any other ship with one hit.

All of these things come into consideration.

Here Are Some Ships And Their Benefits

Frigates: Frigates are the very first ship that you'll use in EVE Online. Frigates fit tiny sized weapons and these are obviously the fastest ship in the game. You can maneuver extremely well in a frigate, but you just don't have super-powerful weapons (or even a lot of slots.)

Destroyers: The name alone sounds very cool. These ships are very, very specific. Usually they are alive to kill Frigates. They have a lot more slots to fit more guns, but they are also MUCH easier to be attacked, too. They give off a bigger signal, meaning more people can hit you. Make sure you only use a destroyer if you like hunting frigates :)

Cruisers: I think the majority of people skip destroyers and then move straight onto cruisers. They are half frigate and half battleship. They can take damage much, much better than frigates and can even repair damage. You will be hit a lot more often, too, though, because of your increased radius of the signature that is sent off.

Battlecruisers: These can equip gang warfare modules which are definitely worth it. Again, Battlecruisers are huge and can be hit pretty easily because of the signature they give off (Making it easy for people to lock onto you)

Battleships: The largest ship that anybody should use, and probably the choice of most people. Battleships fit large weapon types, and you can easily blow a lot of things up with the weaponry available to you. You are a tank, too, because you have a lot more armor and shields to withstand attacks. These are slow, though, so make sure that you don't mind being the slowest ship of them all when considering the size.
