Essential Ninja Tools For The Ultimate Ninja Experience

If ninjas are your new obsession, you need to get the right equipment for all your role-playing activities. Here are some of the essential ninja tools that will help you to have the ultimate ninja experience.

Who were Ninjas?

Ninjas were covert agents who operated during the Feudal period in Japanese history. Their job was to engage in assassinations, espionage, sabotage, and other stealthy operations meant to throw off the enemies of their employers and disrupt their activities.

Although they were thought to possess superhuman capabilities, they were probably just extremely athletic and clever individuals who knew how to conduct effective covert operations and who used their arsenal of ninja tools extremely well.

Over the centuries, their renown became the stuff of legends. Although the stereotype has them dressed in black at all times, this was only true if they were operating in the dark. During the day, they might dress as a peasant, or as a noble man, or as a warrior: the idea was to blend completely into their environment and setting so as to remain undetected.

Essential Ninja Tools

If you want to role-play being a ninja, or if you are simply interested in collecting authentic reproductions of ninja tools, gear, apparel, and other items, here are some of the essentials to collect.

--The Ninja outfit: There's nothing quite like owning authentic articles of Ninja clothing to really get in the mood for fun. You'll need a head to toe uniform, along with tabi boots. Tabi boots allowed ninjas to scale castle walls with ease: for more authenticity, add ashiaro to your boots.

Ashiaro are hand-carved wooden "footprints" that are carved out of word and that attach directly to the soles of tabi boots. They may be the prints of an animal, child, or even an invalid: the idea is to throw you enemies off your track!

--Kaginawa: This is the name for the famous Ninja grappling hooks that allowed these mercenaries to scale high walls. It consists of a pronged hook with 15 or so feet of rope attached; it is swung over the head then thrown; the hook drags along the wall till it securely catches hold. Many Ninjas used kaginawa as weapons as well.

--Shuko and Ashiko: These are steel or iron bands that are fastened to the hands and feet. They are the Ninja tools that allowed the wearer to scale walls in a matter of just a few seconds.

--Ninja swords and throwing stars: No Ninja was ever without his arsenal of weapons, and these always included a sword and a supply of throwing stars. Throwing stars are made from carbon steel and when thrown can slice through an enemy.

These are just a few of the many authentically-designed Ninja tools that are available on the market today. Collecting these fascinating items is a great hobby for millions worldwide.
