Erythrophobia And The Fear Of Being Stout

By:

When an anorexic sees their body in the mirror, they still see themselves as 'fat'. This shocks a lot of folks and it can be hard to comprehend how an individual who is so thin can still see a fat person in the mirror. Those who've never undergone these types of body image issues find it incomprehensible.

Those who have Anorexia are worried excessively about being fat. They spend all their waking hours desperately miserable with their body, and think about it at all times. They just can't see themselves as other folks see them. They think of themselves as fat in view of the fact that that is exactly the way in which they see themselves.

You might be wondering what the fear of blushing excessively and Anorexia have in common. As you will notice, there are indeed some similarities between the fear of being fat and Erythrophobia. While speaking to my girlfriend regarding my earlier blushing problems. I described to her how it was exceedingly mortifying and how I felt completely in need of help. I was going red in the face at all times and the excessive blushing was influencing my entire life. People who've heard my audio book-Blushing Free-will know that I was most extremely upset by this excessive blushing problem at the start of my relationship with my girlfriend. Whenever I saw her, my face used to turn red and become hot. Feeling this, I'd blush even more with unease. It was a vicious circle that I couldn't get out of and it used to indeed make me perspire at times.

I told her this and she frowned at me, not understanding and looking totally at a complete loss. I had thought she would agree and say something like, "Yeah, I too wondered about what was happening then," but her response was entirely unexpected.

Some days later, I finally understood. I did something that was a little discomfitting and even individuals who do not go red in the face much would have blushed at this. I said to my girlfriend, "Look how red in the face I am going" and I looked in the mirror to confirm my feelings. She told me I was relatively pink but nothing more than that. She felt I was making a mountain of a mole hill! From my viewpoint, I could see a red-faced man looking back at me from the mirror. In her eyes, she was seeing someone who was "a little pink" but no worse than any other person. I had always wondered why she had never commented on my excessive blushing in the past. This caused me to compare anorexics with individuals who blush a lot.

If you live with the problem of excessive blushing, you have a great fear of it. This distorts your body image and you see your blushing much more worse than it in reality appears to other folks or how it really is in reality. Convincing a chronic blusher that it is mainly in their mind and their blushing is not that bad is like telling an anorexic that he/she is thin.

At all times try to remember that your going red in the face looks much worse to you than it indeed is. It might not affect individuals close to you and other folks might not even notice it. If you can remember that, you will be a little bit closer to getting rid of your excessive blushing problem forever.
