The fallen Arujuna is said to have tuned to Shiva for aid by sculpting a Shiva Linga only to realize that he was fighting against the Lord himself. The tale continues on for many Centuries later when a boy, cursed by a sage, finds this lingam and worships it in hope of redemption. As the boy's loyalty is confirmed by the undying faith the Lord makes an appearance to redeem him from the curse. Since that day, the place where the lingam was placed has been a place of worship and was later turned into this famous temple. Today it is one of the most sought after places of worship in the area attracting devotees from all over the world.
