Epson Aculaser C1100 - Color Laser With Optional Duplexing

Thanks to Epsons new Wrap Transfer system, color laser printing with the Epson AcuLaser C1100 not only comes out looking crystal clear, but images are produced with fewer errors than ever. For rapid monochrome print speeds, plus the added capability of printing in color, look no further than this compact, easy to use printer from Epson.

With 600 x 600 dot per inch resolution and the wrap transfer system, text and imagery alike stay looking professional and attractive with the Epson AcuLaser C1100. A first page out time for monochrome printing of only 9 seconds also assures that down time will be at a minimum and, with color warm up time not lagging far behind at 17 seconds, long waits for print startups are no longer a concern. From full power off mode, warm up time is still fairly reasonable, clocking it at less than 37 seconds.

Print speeds vary drastically, with black and white printing topping out at a very fast 25 pages per minute, and color print times way behind at only 5 pages per minute. Keep in mind that these specifications are also for a 5% coverage rating and, when full page color images are in the queue, a single page could take over a minute.

Processing speed is also fairly slow and non upgradable thanks to a limited 66.7 MHz processor. 32 MBs of built in memory with EpsonRiTech also may prove to be insufficient, but is upgradable to 256 MBs to help keep larger projects moving at a decent rate. The Epson AcuLaser C1100s maximum monthly duty cycle, however, is actually quite impressive with a rating of 35,000 printed pages per month.

Not only that, but Epson backs this product with a ridiculously long warranty of five years; almost unheard of with other brands. Though, it is limited to 600,000 prints. 12 months of on site repair service is also included standard, and can be upgraded for up to one additional year.

The Epson AcuLaser C1100s footprint is very manageable, with dimensions of 441(W) x 445(D) x 439(H) mm, and a weight of 29kg (including consumables) and, without an additional paper tray option, the units height is set in stone. Standard paper handling is quite sufficient however, with a 500 sheet standard paper tray, and an additional 180 sheet multipurpose tray that brings the units total potential capacity to 680 sheets. When utilizing the multifunction tray for non standard letter or legal sized paper types, maximum input is reduced to 75 total pages for labels or transparencies, or only 20 envelopes.

An optional duplexing unit can be purchased separately and adds the ability to automatically print double sided output. The duplexer is partially external, which adds to the overall size of the unit, but it also has a massive 500 sheet storage capacity that assists with larger two sided projects.

While the Epson AcuLaser C1100s standard toner yields rated at a very limited 1,500 pages for all four colors (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow), high yield toner cartridges rated at 4,000 pages should definitely be considered to assure that this powerful unit maintains an affordable operating cost.
