In short this is the most important camera to be released over the years.
What I find surprising that people have spent 750 on a DSLR as good as this and complain about video issues. I work in TV and movies dealing with professional cameras and broadcast on a daily basis and I can say with every bit 'of my professional opinion this camera is exceptional.
The stills are incredible and even if the only problem is the frustrating lack of video monitoring or audio monitoring, which may be offset by recording on a separate device and synchronize with clapper, the video is absolutely fantastic. Broadcastable easily when in the right hands.
Could you imagine a camera capable of this, for this price 10 years ago? 5 years ago? a year ago?
Please do not look over this camera has video and still incredible performance with a capacity of interchangeable lenses and a decent microphone attached would be a kit to allow transmission to adapt to a small bag.
I have an XH-A1 for personal use at home and I'm already using this more. It did not all the same features and manual controls but hey, the XH-A1 cost 2500, which costs around 700 pounds and is just as good production of images. In a sense, is even more flexible with interchangeable lenses.
I can not recommend a product I ever bought as high as Canon EOS 550D.
