Environmentally Friendly And Thorough Cleaning Using Steam Cleaning

By:

Grease or charred remains can be easily removed using steam cleaning as part of a kitchen deep cleaning service.

A steam cleaner works by heating plain tap water to vapour at 240-280 degrees or hotter in comercial machines. At the same time the vapour it produces has a very low moisture level of less than 10%.

High temperature steam vapour uses a variety of tools to clean. It can provide the energy needed to loosen the dirt sticking to surfaces and dilute contaminants into water where they can be removed by more easily with cloths or suction tools.

Steam is especially good for sticky substances because the heat and moisture of the steam help break the adhesive effect and make it easier to wipe them away. Steam cleaning also works well on grease and oily substances.

The process uses very little water and the low-moisture content of a steam system make it suitable for use on inside surfaces in buildings. Even very porous surfaces can be thoroughly cleaned because as the steam penetrates deeply while leaving them essentially dry

It is also often cited as being both environmentally friendly because it does not use chemical cleaning solutions. The steam vapor's ability to kill germs, and often disinfect without using chemical disinfectants, means it does not trigger allergy-type reactions..

It is also argued that steam vapor is effective in killing dust mites in carpet, bedding and upholstery. Using steam will leave no toxic residues, will not stain clothing and also it kills bacteria including e-coli, listeria and salmonella.

It is said that the original concept of using steam to clean was first discovered in Europe about 20 years ago when a bar owner used the steam from his cappuccino machine to clean lipstick from a wine glass and removed the stain in a few seconds.

He then built the world's first steam cleaner using basic materials such as a water tank, electric and a pressure valve to force out the steam.

Steam cleaning is useful in kitchens for thorough sanitation in high-traffic areas, killing dangerous bacteria, germs and microorganisms where cross-contamination is a risk, and is also useful for a thorough annual clean in large, busy kitchens, such as in restaurants, hotels, hospitals and residential care homes, where grease can quickly build up in inaccessible spaces because of the frequency of cooking in such places.

It is effective in washrooms for cleaning grout and unclogging drains, and also in high-traffic hall and reception areas for deep-cleaning, freshening and deodorizing carpet. It can also remove stains and stale smells from upholstery.

Steam can also be used in large redecorating projects as an aid to stripping areas of wallpaper from walls.

Using a commercial cleaning company that offers steam cleaning in a place of business is particularly helpful not only because it provides a cleaner environment, but also because it will remove a number of irritants from the atmosphere and will help everyone to breathe more freely.
