Entertaining Your Kids This Holiday Season

By:

So keep them entertained doing something useful and maybe even educational. A great way to keep the kids out of your hair while you prepare the turkey is to get them involved. It might get messy, but at least they will be learning some great skills as they help to peel and chop potatoes, pick herbs from the garden, roast nuts and mix and stir Christmas pudding mixtures.
Another good way to keep the kids busy is with baking. Its not as messy as it sounds either. Make a big bowl of simple straightforward cookie dough and leave the kids to play as they will, with an assortment of cookie cutters and trimmings like choc chips and coloured sprinkles.
If you would really rather they stayed out of the kitchen then set up an area where the kids can make Christmas decorations. Everything goes, so throw popcorn, pine cones, glitter, paint and cardboard cut-outs into the mix and see what creations your kids will produce to hang on the tree. Once they have covered the tree in unique decorations, its time to make cards for every member of the family. Posting these off will really help them to feel the true spirit of Christmas and family.
Taking the kids out of the house is the best way to spend relatively stress free time with them. Whether you take them to a skating rink or a Christmas play, they will love the adventure and space, and you wont have to worry about them trashing the house with their excitement and energy. After all, Christmas is not the best time of year to be calling up your home insurance providers with a claim. Although a quick price comparison could see you saving money on your home insurance premiums in the long run, so it might be worth a try after all.
