Entering New Markets

By:

When a new business entity wants to let people in the community know that they are entering the area, they need to attract attention for a few reason. First, attracting attention creates new business opportunities for the business entity. No business can enter into a new market, and expect to survive without a customer base. Second, another component of gaining revenue, is customer retention. Customers are more likely to continue to give business to an entity that they trust, they like, and that they enjoy doing business with. Third, in order for a business entity to succeed in a new market, it has to embed itself in the minds of consumers in the area. This is why many business entities entering new markets announce the presence and build goodwill, by giving out promotional items.

Here's a list of various business entities that would reach out to people in the community, with the use of promotional items, and with the use of promotional merchandise:

-Insurance Companies: Insurance companies typically are quiet, little out of the way retail nooks that people tend to ignore, unless they actually are shopping around for an insurance plan of some sort. When a new insurance company opens in the community, there will be very little to no fanfare unless the insurance company goes out of its way to promote itself. This is why many insurance companies will give out promotional items, such as pens, notepads, mousepads, and other practical office items. They might also give out calendars as well. Some insurance companies will participate in community fairs. At these venues, they will give out cups, and promotional merchandise toys.

- Banks: Banks are one of the number one business entities in the community that gives out promotional items. They will give out pens, pencils, cupholders, calendars, and sometimes, the bank will also give out tote bags and knapsacks with their company logo, and address on them.

-Retail Stores: Retail stores tend to let people in the community that they've arrived in a big way. After all, retailers absolutely count on sales to stay in business. As such, they will hold grand opening sales events. Here, in addition to hot dogs, popcorn, or a sample sized product, they will also give out promotional items such as plastic cups, keychains, plastic bags, shopping bags, or even balloons for the kids!

-Business/trade schools: Trade schools are always looking for students for their enrollment fairs. To this end, they make their career fairs memorable and fun. Here, a prospective student can pick up promotional merchandise, such as pens, sticky pads, notepads, mugs, and plastic cups. These all have the emblems of the school on them, as well as a phone number. These promotional items allow the students to have easy access to important contact information.

There are many other business entities that will benefit when they enter into a new business market, by introducing themselves to people in the community with the use of promotional items.
