Has your pool turned green and murky? Do you want to clean that up in ways convenient for you? Here are some tips you can use.

1.Ensure that you have a good water flow. Make it a point to clean your filters and or baskets.

2.Keep an eye on the water pH level. The higher the alkalinity of the water is, the more prone it becomes to algae.

3.The use of algaecides is practical for any pool owners. Highly chlorinated algaecides can kill algae and some bacteria in a shock. Pool shocking should be at least done once in a week to maintain your pool's condition.

4.Monitor a 24 hour run on your filters after giving the pool water a shock. Keep an eye on algae floats in the water until such time you feel that all of the algae present in your pool are already killed. If not, you can either run the shock again or wait further until eventually all of the algae will come off.

5.Algae that were killed will then float in the water as a result of the chlorine shock treatment. This is now the time when you pick them up using a skimming net. Keep skimming for algae until you find your pool already crystal clear.

Another way to clean your murky pool is by the use cartridge filters. Here's how:

1.Kill algae by using a lot of chlorine or algaecide.

2.Clump floating algae after treatment by using a coagulator spray. A coagulator spray will coagulate the floating algae into clumps you can easily pick with a skimming net. Use the spray a night of a day before, then by tomorrow coagulated algae are ready for your picking.

3.Add DE or diatomaceous earth into your filters. DE's are wonderful addition on providing an overall improvement to your pool's wellbeing. DE is a very powerful filtering mechanism that sifts microorganisms and other small debris as small as 2-5 microns in size.

4.Keep the pressure of the vacuum running until it exceeds 35. This will make things easier for you afterwards. Siphon all the floating algae into a place relatively of some distance from the pool. This will ensure that the algae suctioned will not find its way back to the pool.

5.Repeat step 4 if necessary.

But as always, prevention is always the best way to go. Here are some tips to keep you from going through a regular cleaning trip.

1.Keep your pool chlorine levels regulated. Keep them at a level where no algae can ever thrive in you pool waters.

2.Cartridge filters are rarely durable and they would eventually wear-off over time. Purchase new ones every after your cleaning sessions.
